In the previous year, most Enzis – the popular chairs of the Museum Wien – became victims of a fire. Since this year, the new “Enzos” in new design invite to stay in courtyard of the museum.

With the underground line U3 you can go in only a few minutes from our Pension to station Volkstheater next to MQ. Walking through the Mariahilfer Straße you need, however, hardly more than 15 minutes to get there – if you don’t allow the pubs and shops to distract you too much…

The three panels (each from 2 pm until 7 pm) want to show the coexistence, coexistence and mutual interdependence of hardware and software, content and object in contemporary art. Among the participants, the Austrian pioneer in the fields of Generative Arts LIA.

For the first time a representative cross section of the library Fondation Beyeler in Basel is coming to Austria. Masterpieces of Impressionist and Modern Classics, from Monet to Picasso, are in Vienna in autumn 2010.

22nd September 2010 to 9th January 2011, Leopold Museum
The anniversary exhibition to mark the tenth anniversary of the Leopold Museum is dedicated to the life and work of Egon Schiele.

Handel – Messiah

How can “Messiah” be staged? For director Claus Guth it was clear: Certainly not as a sandals-epic. The result is a stroke of genius: intelligent and gripping. This bear also excellent musicians such as counter-tenor Bejun Mehta, and – with incredible presence – the bass Florian Boesch; J.-Ch. Spinosi conducts.

A Little Nightmare Music

In the mid-1970s it seemed as if an alien had appeared in the New York avant-garde scene. Klaus Sperber created a fictional character, which – supported by David Bowie – rose to meteoric star 1979/80. But in 1983 the comet fell from the sky – Nomi died of AIDS. The superb documentary reconstructs his life – and shows almost incidentally how AIDS caused both the physical and social death of the patients.
